CBD: The Entourage Effect

Different Types of CBD?

There are two types of CBD concentrate on the market: Full Spectrum CBD and CBD Isolate. While the two are technically the same compound, it's difference lies in its extraction process and therefore, a myriad of benefits between the two.  Interestingly enough, Full Spectrum CBD is the only concentrate that offers the powerful "Entourage Effect" which we will explore in this article.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

Unlike CBD Isolate, Full Spectrum CBD is is a wide range of cannabinoids present in hemp and cannabis plants. Instead of isolating a few active cannabinoids, Full Spectrum CBD encompasses a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, unique cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and fiber.

When referring to Full Spectrum CBD, it is important to understand that hemp contains an array of cannabinoids (in trace amounts at times), but the main compound is cannabidolic acid (CBDa). As CBDa is much more prevalent in hemp, processing it requires the decarboxylate of the oil. Processing it in this manner changes CBDa into CBD.

The Benefits of Full Spectrum CBD and the Entourage Effect

Whole-Plant CBD,  also known as Full Spectrum CBD has shown to be most effective in combating pain and inflammation. The difference between both Full Spectrum and its Isolate counterpart comes down to the speed at which these substances act. While Isolate still manages to relieve the aforementioned ailments, it does so at a much slower rate versus Full Spectrum.

This is why Full Spectrum CBD has become so popular. The Entourage Effect proves its attractive efficacy of whole-plant extracts. While there are over 100 identified compounds in a typical hemp plant, and each of these compounds has its own therapeutic benefit, the concept of each working in perfect synergy further adds to its attractiveness among wellness enthusiasts.

Here are a couple of examples of conditions that benefit from the entourage effect:

  • Nausea
  • Anxiety
  • Stress
  • Insomnia
  • Pain relief
  • Inflammation Reduction

Final Thoughts on Full Spectrum CBD

Although it may be better to consume CBD Isolate than nothing at all, it may not offer you the same range of wholesome and positive effects as Full Spectrum CBD. Full Spectrum CBD offers up a healthy portion of the substance, all the while exposing you to dozens of other beneficial cannabinoids and minerals. As a result, your body will receive its proper intake of positive nutrients, ensuring holistic wellness.

Not only can Full Spectrum CBD oil help to relieve pain, reduce stress and help you sleep, but it is also thought to keep your body strong, fit and healthy. Forget about painkillers or the hundreds of prescription drugs on the market, Full Spectrum CBD oil is the real deal!
